Plan in Hayedo de Tejero Forest
If you have run out of places for the Hayedo de Montejo, which we talked about in a previous blog, or on the contrary you have gone and you loved it, you can choose to make a weekend trip to Guadalajara, to visit the Hayedo de Tejera Negra, which is located within the Natural Park of the Sierra Norte de Guadalajara.
The beech forest extends over more than 400 hectares and has a wide variety of species such as pines, yews… It also has two circular routes that will allow you to get to know the natural space to perfection: the Carretas path and the Robledal path.
Autumn is the perfect time to visit it, in addition to the great variety of colours of the landscape on the ground you can find a great variety of mushrooms, undoubtedly a perfect plan for a couple.
Plan in the Capricho Park and lunch in Alameda de Osuna
This park is one of the unknown parks in Madrid, as it is overshadowed by others such as the Retiro, Casa de Campo… but it offers wonderful landscapes and ensures a romantic stroll along all its routes.
The Parque del Capricho is open every day of the year except 25th December and 1st January. It is a 14-hectare garden in the shape of a triangle, located in the Alameda de Osuna neighbourhood of the Barajas district, in the northeast of the city.
Inside the Parque del Capricho you will feel like you are inside a fairytale forest, where three different types of gardens coexist: the parterre, the English landscape and the Italian Giardino.
Now let’s get down to what really matters, the food. Alameda de Osuna has a wide variety of restaurants, which will make your day only get better. Dinner and stroll through the Barrio de las Letras neighbourhood
Madrid’s Barrio de las Letras is an artistic and central district located between Paseo del Prado and Plaza de Santa Ana. It is famous for its cobbled streets covered with quotes from famous Spanish writers, such as Lope de Vega, Cervantes and Quevedo.
This neighbourhood has a wide range of traditional taverns, elegant restaurants and cafés with terraces… which makes it a perfect place to go for dinner in a restaurant or as we recommend you go for beers and tapas in different bars, while you walk around the famous neighbourhood.
Here you can find everything from a flamenco show at Villa Rosa, where you can also enjoy a wonderful dinner, jazz shows at the central café and incredible views of the city from RADIO ME Rooftop Bar.
